What Inspires Me and My Work?

In a word, authenticity

I'm inspired by brides who aren't afraid to hike a mountain or cross a river to get the perfect shot, dress be damned. Who are excited by the idea of having the ceremony at a location only accessible by boat. By grooms who'll let themselves cry when they see their soulmate walking down the aisle towards them. By couples who believe that a traditional church wedding may work for some, but only the truly unique will suffice for them.

I'm inspired by two people who want to look through a wedding album fifty years from now filled with real moments of genuine emotion, not stiff posing and fake smiles. By couples who'll be okay with me texting super often reminding them how crazy excited I am for their big day.

I'm inspired by the incomparable, breathtaking majesty of nature. And by people who understand exactly what I mean when I say that. I'm inspired by silly references, inside jokes, knowing glances, and surprise embraces.

But most of all, I'm inspired by couples that are completely, ridiculously, out-of-their-minds in love with each other.

If that sounds like you, then let's get together and talk. We're going to create something unforgettable.

A Little About Me...

I'm in my happy place when I'm surrounded by trees, under an overcast sky, Nikon in hand, capturing two people madly in love. I'm constantly stepping outside my comfort zone and prefer to work with people excited to step outside theirs.

I'm a die-hard romantic. I'm obsessed with scented candles. I would be happy eating tacos every day for the rest of my life. I love the Harry Potter series an unhealthy amount. I married the best man in the whole world (like, ranked, the best). I once saw Tim Allen do a stand-up comedy set. It was weird. I've taken 1st place in Equestrian competitions. The PC I use to edit photos could power a small country. I have two dogs, Message and Amaterasu (Ammy, for short). I also have two cats, China and Icarus (Mean-Fat-Cat-Who-Terrorizes-Everyone-Else-In-The-House-But-He-Can-Be-Funny-Sometimes-So-We-Keep-Him-Around, for short).

I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched Parks & Recreation in its entirety. I'm genuinely afraid of ghosts. I collect signed hardcovers. My husband built me giant custom bookshelves from scratch to hold them all. I love a good craft beer, but moscato d'asti is my drink of choice. I'm all about farm-to-table and supporting local businesses. I'm on the Board of Directors at my local Humane Society. Backpacking is my jam.

Oh, and I want to shoot your wedding and also be best friends.
