Life has a funny way of leading you to awesome people through roundabout means. I worked with Dulce and the McConnell Mansion last year for a personal project and I knew right off the bat we were gonna be buds. After connecting about our mutual love (more like unabashed obsession) with dogs and little furry things, Dulce introduced me to the Board of the Humane Society of the Palouse, of which we're now both members.
More recently, my husband and I had the chance to take a weekend and camp with Dulce and Tonda in Southern Idaho during the solar eclipse. Spending that time with them meant a lot to me. Getting to watch the way they interact and the ways they show their adoration for each other was simply the most perfect thing to be around for someone as obsessed with love as myself. The way Dulce can just shoot Tonda a look and he knows exactly what she's trying to tell him. The way Tonda laid next to Dulce while she was napping in the tent one afternoon, not necessarily because he was tired, but simply because he wanted to be near her. The way Tonda talked about their wedding plans the way a little boy talks about his presents on Christmas morning. If I only took one thing away from that weekend trip (other than the absolutely life-changing awesomeness of a total solar eclipse), it's that these two are truly out-of-their-minds in love with each other.
Getting to know Dulce and Tonda better this year has been so awesome for me, and I had such a blast capturing their big day. Thunderstorms, rainbows, and a certain pie-loving black pup named Moose made it one of the most amazing wedding I've ever had the privilege of documenting. Enjoy!
